The Development Director is responsible for developing fundraising strategies in support of our Mission and Strategic Plan. You will develop fundraising methodologies and a fundraising events strategy, as well as develop a corps of volunteers who can assist with specific tasks in support of our strategic plan. Additionally, you will seek grant money to support both mission-related programs and select property improvements, such as implementing our current Native Garden Plan and associated educational focus. You will maintain accurate donor, fundraising and grant process records to track and evaluate the success of programs and to ensure long term donor relationships. You must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, have strong organization skills, be a self starter and have the ability to multi-task. Excellent computer skills are a must, especially with the MS Office suite, E-mail and the Internet. This position requires a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of two years experience in the Development field. This position is full time with flexible hours. We support telecommuting to encourage saving on gasoline expenses and emissions.
The Head Housekeeper will work as a member of the housekeeping team with our housekeepers. You will also be responsible for creating weekly staff schedules, assigning housekeepers' daily work tasks, maintaining inventory of cleaning products, ensuring laundry is done, and maintaining linen inventories. You will provide daily supervision of the housekeepers, and check rooms and public areas upon completion of cleaning to ensure standard are maintained. You must be bilingual (English/Spanish), have good people skills, be a self starter and have fundamental computer skills with e-mail, writing basic documents in MS Word, and using the Internet. This position requires two years of experience in housekeeping in the hospitality business plus some experience in supervising other housekeepers.
